The Last Best Place

The Last Best Place                           oil                                     12" x 36:"

I worked with another long proportion in this latest painting. It's from Belize, where my memories are of intense blues of every description. I've included detail shots below.

I like these long format paintings you have been working on. This one captures a deep sense of space with wonderful color.
Just spent the last half hour backtracking through your blog catching up on what I missed.
Nice work as always.

What a wonderful array of blues. Very nice painting. And I love the size of your support. It really enhances this scene.

'The Last Best Place' - Tuner would love your treatment of the sky. O'Hara would applaud your little house on the jetty. Homer would stand up and cheer at your bolt of turquoise water. I have bookmarked your site.

I like this one. It really gives a sense of remoteness.
