Geranium Mix

Geranium Mix                       9" x 12"                        oil on linen
I don't typically work by starting out with a dark background, but I did here with these bight geraniums and marigolds against dark umber. It was a  fun change and it gave me some ideas for working this way again with more structure in the composition.

The dark background is what caught my eye bringing out the beautiful colors in the geraniums. Nice work!!!

Very nice flower painting. I'm working on flowers right now and it is challenging, but what isn't! You do make it look easy. I like how only a few are in focus.
