A Break In The Clouds

A Break In The Clouds           oil       9" x 7"
Well, I've been so lax with my blog posts lately! We have been travelling and since being back, I've been working on a commission. But, today I took a break from that to remember this sky overhead in Eagle, Idaho. It was a one of those days, where distant clouds billowed throughout the hot day. I loved these for their edge of bright light.

Nicely captured Mary, you know the sun is lurking behind there somewhere.

I did a painting of clouds awhile back....why didn't I use this vertical format?? (slapping forehead!) This is beautiful! Love it!

I just spent the weekend in the Pecos
mountains and saw clouds so similar to this. I thought of you, Mary, every time I saw a fisherman. only fly fishing allowed.

Well done Mary. I had the feeling I was looking at the real thing - without your painting being too literal.

Oh so lovely, Mary! I'm with you on wanting to paint this dramatic break in the clouds with that beautiful slash of blue. Well done.

Wishing you and yours a blessed New Year!
