Hollyhock Garden

Hollyhock Garden          oil             10" x 8"
Flowers have been taking a back seat to other subjects for awhile and I just had to get my 'fix'! I've been seeing a lot of Hollyhocks lately and one of the things that is so great about them is that they like the heat. Good thing, because it is hot everywhere right now! I can still look at these and feel cool(er) and refreshed though.

Nice lighting in this Mary, I like the background contrasts. Stay cool.

A real cool painting Mary! We don't see these flowers much any more around here. They are lovely.
I wish to thank you also for introducing me to ipiccy. I'm still experimenting with it. It's easy and fun. Happy painting.

What a joyful painting. I love hollyhocks but cannot paint them as successfully as this.

It's been so hot here these days. My flowers are taking a beating..drying up pretty fast no matter how much water I give it...SO I will enjoy your beautiful flowers...so colorful!!

Hi, is it OK if I forward your site to my daughter? She's an artist, too, and I know she would like to see your work.

Thanks,
