First Pick Lilacs

First Pick Lilacs                   oil            9"x7"
Our lilacs this year seems particularly deep in color and fragrant, but I probably think that's true every year :)  I hadn't worked from life for too long, and snipped these to paint, simply setting them up in a clear glass with a brown/gray drape behind. They lasted just long enough to paint that day and livened up my painting space wonderfully!

Our Lilacs are beautiful too. I love the way you painted the variations of colors. This one is perfect, Mary, just perfect.

This is fantastic! I love lilacs but too hot here for them. I did read that there are some developed for hot climates, I'm going to check that out. Perfect painting.
