Swept Away - developing large work from a small painting.

Swept Away                 30" x 60"                    acrylic        sold
You might be thinking this is a re-post, but it is a larger version of an earlier painting. I mentioned awhile back that I have been working on a commission of Swept Away and thought I would post it today instead of a daily painting. This is done in layers with acrylic from the original oil. Working from a smaller painting is a definite plus. With all your planning and decision making done, you can really enjoy the process of painting in a more freeing way. On the other hand, there is more blending and detail work to be done and I didn't want to lose the motion of the original. You can see a larger photo HERE

It's wonderful, Mary. You've kept the energy and freshness in this larger work: not an easy thing to do.

I love the rain on the horizon and the late light catching the clouds. This is simply lovely, Mary.
