Red At The River's Edge- roses over water

Red At The River's Edge        oil           8" x 6"
These roses hung over the water's edge and I spied them while my husband and I walked along the river in Boise. The red was intense and very dark, like a lipstick from the 50's. And, over the light blue reflections of the water, they really stood out. Very romantic!

Beautiful, Mary. A different setting for roses makes for a unique painting. Love your brushwork. I've walked along the river in Boise too. :-)

Gorgeous, Mary. I love the juxtaposition of the smooth reflective water next to the vitality of your roses.
Great reds!
