Hibiscus - orange floral of Hawaii

Hibiscus       8" x 6"       oil
Is there any more iconic Hawaiian flower than the Hibiscus? I knew I'd be painting one and these sherbet orange blossoms were some of my favorites. It's always great when you see an abundance of flowers everywhere that we see only in a greenhouse, or not at all. I loved this color against the deep blue greens.

What a lovely piece, Mary. That beautiful orange really pops with the lavender background.

Lovely Mary...the colors are beautiful, I love hibiscus, we have an orange one in our garden that flowers nearly all year round. I have painted them on silk and one day I will try one in oils.

Definitely stunning the contrast between the two colors, warm and beautiful.
