Apple Sky

Apple Sky   9" x 9"  oil on panel
These apples are painted in a more distant ornamental view, where you can look up and see the sky poking through branches. My idea here was to create a frame of nature for the blue sky. Here I used a  transparent yellow wash first and it warmed up everything and helped to make the sky pop.

Beautiful, Mary! Using transparent yellow was a great idea. I always enjoy seeing your paintings of fruit on branches. So lovely.

Wonderful and loose color and design. The yellow really makes it pop!
