Fall Fishing

Fall Fishing   8"x10"  oil on canvas
I looked for a fall day to paint and decided to use the under layer of orange for a suggestion of fall in this piece, rather than going for the full blown color  of fall leaves. In this way, I hope to convey the feeling, and still give the fisherman the focus of the piece.

Mary, love it! I also paint fly fishermen and am so drawn to them, fabulous job playing light against dark and well the orange underglaze is brilliant. It really tiesnit all together. Great job !

Love the orange under painting--the glow it produces is so beautiful. I just spent a week-end fly fishing for the first time, and I am hooked.

Hey Jerry that's great! Hope you get to go again soon. I always think there are similarities in fly fishing and painting and I always enjoy painting them. Something about the preparation, concentration and of course catching one (whether fish or painting)! Thanks, Mary

Thanks Brad and Diane, glad the color seemed to come through and communicate.

Beautiful! You conveyed the feeling perfectly. The undertone peeks through in all the right places.
