Erick

Erick   9"x 9"  oil on linen panel
A while back, I worked with a few open grisaille images and wanted to visit this method again. This is a portrait of my nieces boy, Erick. He is wearing a traditional Basque beret which I thought worked well in this simple sepia toned work. He's a sweetie, but it was a challenge to have him sit still enough for the reference photos I used! I'm sure he is running and exploring something right this second :) !

Beautifully painted and just love the expressive feel that this has.

I love the antique feeling of this work. He could be from another century. You have captured his sweet expression wonderfully...great light around his eye and mouth. I love the loose, unfinished quality of his shirt. Just right. I'l bet his mother loves this!

That's an amazing portrait. The sepia tone was the perfect way to portray this boy and give him an air of nostalgia about little boys through history... Wonderful work!
