Working Up River

Working Upriver  9"x 9"  oil
This is a focus on the light streaming through the gap in the trees at right, as the fisherman works up the river toward the next catch. I always have trouble photographing the darks in a painting as they seem to go rather flat. Anyone have any solutions out there?

Des nuances de couleurs magnifiques et rayonnantes.
Une très belle composition et une atmosphère paisible.
Une très jolie peinture.

Both of your fisherman paintings are terrific! The water in the first one is great. You really captured the roiling and movement of the river. Great light in the second painting. I like the gap up river between the trees, and also the light striking the tree in the upper left. Beautiful.

Another great fly fishing painting-love the light streaming through.
I will e-mail you an idea for getting a good photo of the darks-it's too long for here.

Wow Mary, these are GREAT! you've really captured the spirit and movement of the outdoors. I feel like I need to go grab my bugspray. I love the feel of the water in these, too.

Cheers,
Sandy
