Country Road

Country Road    8"x8"   oil
The drama of this simple country road comes from the lighting in and behind the clouds, but I was actually inspired by Julie Davis's recent paintings of her wonderful trees. She is working on form after form and I admire the way she changes it up and presents interesting and solid shapes each time.

Mary, this is gorgeous! Love the "active side" of the tree and the beautiful colors you've used. Nicely done--and of course, I'm grateful for your kind words!

I am so inspired by all the artists that blog and share their techniques. I listened to an artist today that said he painted a painting every day for two years and how his work reached a whole different level.

It made me realize that there's Hope to find my gift again.... My dad use to tell me I had a God given talent, but if you don't use it , you lose it. Well, I lost it and now I'm trying to find it again..

Isn't modern technology wonderful? It gives us all the opportunity to learn from one another. You all inspire me so much, thank you for sharing.

Mary - This is done beautifully! There is such a flow in all your work - beautiful, dappled light - a great rhythm. And I've been loving Julie's trees too. I need to comment on her blog.
