The Daily News

The Daily News  oil   7"x9"
I felt this pose and the newspaper worked well with the sepia tone for another grisaille painting. While I hope the newspaper isn't ever relegated to the past, it does have that classic feel as a subject, to me. I used a bit more of a sketch technique here and have some ideas for developing others.

Really great job on the figure and angle! I love the sketchy feel. All of your grisailles are so gorgeous!

So nice! Especially love the light coming in the window and onto his hair. The whole painting is so well thought out. Fantastic!

Wow, these last two portraits are amazing. It seems easier to "sketch" using monotone colors, and it worked really well with this one. Great painting.
