Wind and Rain

Wind and Rain  18"x18"  oil on canvas
This is the painting I developed form the storm sketch of my last post. I kept the analogous color scheme, movement and basic shapes of the smaller work. But, in this piece I heightened the chroma of some of the violets and pulled paint down for some rain action and direction. The paint is applied in both thin and thick areas to help with depicting atmosphere and surface interest.

Very nice. It's fun to compare the sketch with the finished painting. I like the streaks of rain. Great job!

I am enjoying your work very much! Your development of that little study into this larger piece with such freshness and exciting action is truly impressive! Wow.
