Storm Sketch

Storm Sketch  6x6  oil
Daily painting is valuable in so many ways, not the least of which is planning. I seem to have forgotten this, but recently remembered to begin developing small works as plans for larger paintings as well as stand alone pieces. It's an age old way to work out all the elements before starting a larger work and my plan is to develop this Storm Sketch into a larger work which will be 18 x18".

A lovely sky...and yes this would make a great larger piece. Go for it!

If this is only a sketch, I can't wait to see the larger piece!

The wind is whipping it up outside tonight and I feel those elements in this painting. I can't wait to see the larger work although it would be hard to top this gorgeous painting!

I'm finding more and more of you wanting to develop larger works. I'm so happy to see this trend. I never got into the daily small works and I'm so ready to view larger pieces on the blogs. This could be an amazing large work. I can't wait to see it!

I love this as a smaller painting and think it will be awesome as a larger painting, too. It really caught my eye in today's DPO thumbnails.

The cloud colors are amazing. Really a lovely "sketch."
