Lemon Trio

Lemon Trio    9"x9"  oil on linen panel
I nearly titled this painting, "Pucker Up".  Every time I started really thinking about the subject, as opposed to painting the subject, my mouth started to do that automatic response thing that happens when you think of lemons! Anyway, in painting these three, my challenge was not to let the intense yellows overwhelm everything else. Believe it or not, I grayed down quite a bit of the color here and it is still pretty high on the chroma chart . Now, time for icy lemonade.........

  14. Mmm, lemonade. It's great with fresh mint in, even more refreshing! I love the soft shapes in this, they're calming and serene, a nice contrast to the puckering my mouth is now doing too! Delighted to have found your blog, Mary.
