Above Avery , fly fishing on the St. Joe river

Above Avery              7" x 7"               oil on linen panel
Avery, Idaho is on the St. Joe river. On a day like this one, it's just one sparkling turn after another as you wind your way along the road that follows it. I took this photo of my husband at least a year or so ago, but in the way of revisiting images, today it just said 'paint me'!

What a splendid background Mary! Your fishing scenes are always the best.

I love it! I like how simple the background is and the whole focus is on the fisherman and the light!

Mary your painting says" what a great day on the water", bright sunshine a relaxed casting stroke and probably trout rising just up ahead.
Love the clear water.

I love the apparent abandon of this piece, even though I know every stroke was deliberate.
