Just Holding On

Just Holding On               12" x 16"            oil on linen
This was painted from a small study done several weeks ago. It was thoroughly fun and satisfying both times for both the color scheme and the action of the scene. Here I wanted to develop more of the grays and the color passages in a bit more subtle way and the proportion of the format is slightly wider.

Oh Mary, I like the foreground and the background. So lively. The middle ground is done perfectly as usual, I just have my favorite parts!

I like the tension in the scene with the fisherman keeping his balance and trying not to loose the fish at the same time.I like how you portrayed the fast water
in the middle.

Great palette Mary! I love the salmon tones in the background and the yellow ochre in the forefront. It really gives some punch into your painting. xx
